First of all, thanks for all your e-mails concerning my 90's rock band, "Rules of Prey". As much as I've tried to move on past that era, I can't deny how much fun it was to take the stage with R.O.P. and how often many of you have reminded me of how much you enjoyed the band, also.

The band recorded a three song demo, produced by Eric Valentine (T-Ride, Smashmouth), that was well appreciated by our fans. Back then, it was unheard of for a band's demo to get mainstream airplay, but the Rules of Prey song, "Stroke of the pen", reverberated on L.A. rock radio stations simply because the DJ's liked it. My phone was ringing constantly. It was a very exciting time for us.

The members of R.O.P. have nobody but ourselves to blame for the band's demise. Sorry folks, but it really was internal personality strife that brought it all down. It doesn't take much to wreck a good thing.

Several musicians have been with Rules of Prey. The first two incarnations of the band are responsible for creating the long term appreciation R.O.P. has enjoyed over the years. I'm always stunned when someone treats one of our old demos like a prize posession. To satisfy the historians out there, I'll list the members in the order that they appeared with Rules of Prey.

Just a final note

Brian Sheridan, R.O.P.'s original drummer, had the best vision for the band's success. If the band had had the wisdom to follow his lead, we all would have gotten so much more from Rules of Prey, both the members and the fans. So, if you bump into Brian Sheridan somewhere along the line, it's his autograph you should really get.
